Veteran Pratap Jayaram from Bengaluru emerged as the fastest in the first round of the 2017 Indian National Drag Racing Championship for four-wheelers at the MMRT track here on Sunday.
Jayaram, participating in the top-end Unrestricted class in a fully modified Reva car, clocked 13.102 seconds for the quarter-mile drag which also won him the fastest driver award. Finishing second behind Jayaram was Joel Joseph, also from Bengaluru, with Pune's Rayomand Banajee completing the podium.
Another veteran, Radha Selvaraj topped the Indian Open class ahead of Varun Gowda and Vivek Ramachander.
