The Jharkhand government on Tuesday gave 174.84 acres of acquired land to Adani Power Ltd to set up a 1600 MW power plant in the state.
Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma handed over the documents of the land to Adani Power CEO Rajesh Jha at the state secretariat. The company needs 970 acres to set up the plant in Godda district.
"This power plant will generate 10,000 jobs and the state will get an investment of Rs 1,500 crore. The process of acquiring the rest of the land will be completed soon," said the Chief Secretary.
CEO Rajesh Jha said: "This plant will be 100 per cent pollution free. The land has been acquired as per the wishes of the landowners.
"Jharkhand will get 25 per cent of the total capacity of the power plant and Godda will be on the global map after the plant becomes functional."
