Jordan and Romania on Sunday called for intensified efforts to fight terrorism, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
At a meeting between Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi, the two sides stressed on the need to increase efforts in this regard.
Judeh said Jordan will continue to lead efforts to fight terrorists and radical groups that seek to tarnish the image of Islam.
Discussions between the two side also focused on the Palestinian peace process, where they stressed the need for resuming talks leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital, Xinhua news agency reported.
Referring to the Israeli escalation in Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque, Judeh said these measures will undermine peace efforts and will fuel more tension in the region.
On Syria, the two sides underlined the need for a political solution to end the violence in the country.
