Pakistan's Muhammad Arslan Qadir was Sunday suspended for two games by the Hockey Junior World Cup Tournament director for breaching the FIH Code of Conduct in their Pool A match against Germany here Saturday.

Qadir was shown the red card by the umpire in the 23rd minute for elbowing a German player in their 1-6 loss to the defending World Champions at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Qadir was suspended after his hearing Sunday.

"Muhammmad Arslan Qadir is found to have violated the Rule and Directive of the FIH Code of Conduct. I have concluded that this constitutes a Level 2 offence referring to a physical assault, without injury, of another player," said tournament director David Collier.

"In accordance with the evidence provided at the hearing and taking into account the contrition displayed by the player, my decision is as follows: Muhammad Arsian Qadir of the Pakistan team shall be suspended for two matches."

This ruling means that 19-year-old will miss the team's last group match Tuesday against Belgium and the play-off match involving Pakistan to be played Thursday.
