Six-time defending champions Juventus on Sunday won the derby against Torino 1-0 to provisionally jump to the top of the Serie A table.
Juventus registered their ninth straight victory in the Italian football league to regain the lead in the standings, even though forward Gonzalo Higuain left the field in the 15th minute due to an ankle problem, reports Efe.
Juventus managed to seal the 1-0 away win thanks to a goal from Alex Sandro in the 33rd minute. The Brazilian, playing as a left winger, tapped in a cross from right winger Federico Bernardeschi, who came in as Higuain's replacement.
After this victory, Juventus lead the Serie A table with 65 points, two points ahead of second-placed Napoli, who are currently hosting SPAL.
Sunday's loss handed Torino their fifth defeat this season, to hold the ninth position with 36 points.
