A self-confessed fan of Argentine greats Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, Indian badminton ace Jwala Gutta is hopeful of the Latin American nation emerging winners in the soccer World Cup final early Monday.
"I am a fan of Maradona and Messi and watch their video clips at times. So I would wish to see Argentina become the champs," Gutta said here, hours before the Argentina-Germany summit clash at Brazil's Maracana stadium," she said.
Admitting she doesn't get to catch up on football much, Gutta hailed Messi for his agility and talent.
In the city to participate in a student felicitation programme, Gutta urged students to learn from their mistakes.
"Failure and triumphs are parts of life. If you keep winning all the time, you may not learn a lot, but failure has a lot to teach. Instead of getting depressed, you should analyse your failure and strive to overcome," she said.
"If I lose a match, I don't get sad or feel down. But if I lose a close match, I surely have sleepless nights.I always think and try to analyse what went wrong and rectify them," added Gutta.
