Croatia forward Nikola Kalinic praised Atletico Madrid's forwards, France's Antoine Griezmann and Spain's Diego Costa, during his presentation as a Rojiblancos player on Monday.
The 30-year-old Kalinic signed a three-year contract with the La Liga side on a transfer from Fiorentina, after playing last season on loan with Milan, reports Efe.
He said at a press conference that Griezmann, who was part of the French national team that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and Costa are "maybe the best strikers in Europe."
"I have no alternative but to fight and to compete for playing time. I have much respect for these two players. There are a lot of matches... I hope to play," Kalinic added.
Having already made his debut with Atletico in their 0-1 friendly defeat against Inter Milan on Saturday, Kalinic said he enjoyed himself at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
"It is just the beginning. I have yet to adapt to the work at the club and my teammates. I need some time," Kalinic stressed.
