Premier League side Chelsea on Friday announced a contract renewal with French midfielder N'Golo Kante for five more years through the 2023 season.
The 27-year-old came to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City in 2016 and while with the Blues, Kante was awarded Premier League Player of the Season in 2017, reports Efe news.
"I am happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come," Kante said in a statement made available on the club's site.
"Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about," Kante added.
"We are delighted N'Golo has signed a new contract and sees his long-term future with Chelsea. When he arrived, we knew we had signed a special player but he has astounded everybody with his tireless and unselfish displays," club director Marina Granovskaia said.
Kante has netted four goals in 105 appearances with Chelsea, and helped the team win the FA Cup last season as well as been part of the Blues 2016-2017 Premier League championship campaign.
