In view of the heavy inflow of 'kanwarias' into Ghaziabad, police here have announced major restrictions that will hit the traffic going from and to Delhi.
The restrictions apply to heavy traffic movement on the National Highway-58 (Delhi-Meerut road) and National Highway-24 (Delhi-Lucknow road).
The diversion would be implemented from August 6 and remain in force till August 14.
During this period, light vehicles would be allowed till August 9 on a single lane on NH-58. Even this would be scrapped after August 9.
The traffic diversion would be implemented in view of the expected arrival of 'kanwarias' - who go to Haridwar and carry Ganges water to Shiv temples.
According to police, all types of traffic from Delhi to Ghaziabad city would be allowed only via UP Gate NH-24, Vijay Nagar, Lal Kuan and Atma Steel to Meerut via Hapur.

No heavy and medium traffic would be allowed to take the underpass leading in the residential colonies of Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara and Hindon.
The Haridwar-bound heavy and medium traffic from Delhi would be allowed on NH-24 from UP Gate via Lal Kuan, Dasna Pilkhuwa, Hapur, Meerut, Bijnore and Haridwar.
Traffic from Delhi to Saharanpur via Loni would be closed. Traffic would be diverted to Wazirabad, Outer Ring Road, NH-1 and finally to Saharanpur.
Traffic from Delhi to Bulandshahr would be diverted towards Okhla Barrage, Noida Mor and DND to Noida-Greater Noda Expressway, Kasna, Shyam Nagar Mandi, Sikandrabad and finally to Bulandshahr.
