Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday launched the five-year Karnataka Tourism Policy 2015-20 aimed at developing the state as a dynamic, sustainable and the most favoured tourism destination.

The new tourism policy intends to facilitate private investment and promote entrepreneurship.

The department of tourism and three other nodal departments signed agreements with six corporate entities to maintain tourist attractions like Lal Bagh, Bengaluru Museum, Ranganathittu, Venkatappa Art Gallery, Kavala Caves and Belur and Halebidu.

The tourism department identified 319 tourist destinations for expansion and upgradation.

The government identified 46 more tourist destinations for corporates to adopt under its "Adopt a Tourism Destination" scheme.
