Jammu and Kashmir's anti-corruption organization Tuesday arrested a police officer while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000, an official said.
"Following a specific complaint, sleuths of the state vigilance organization today arrested assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Abdul Kabir, posted at Khirbhawani police station in Ganderbal district," a senior officer of the state vigilance organization told IANS.
"The police officer was arrested red-handed in presence of a magistrate while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from the complainant."
The officer said after his arrest, Kabir has been lodged in the vigilance police station here where an FIR has been registered against him.
