With support from the Indian Army, a group of 20 drivers from Jammu and Kashmir are on a fortnight-long auto-technology awareness tour to eastern India, officials said Monday.
The "Educational-cum-Auto Tech Awareness Tour" organised by the army for the drivers aims at enhancing their awareness on preventive maintenance, repair and upkeep of vehicles, thereby enabling them to gain proficiency in their profession.
The group from Sopore Monday interacted with Eastern Army commander Lt. Gen. M.M.S. Rai who told them that such tours will give them exposure and show them the right way forward.
The team, which earlier visited Tata Motors in Jamshedpur, is also slated to see the Hindustan Motors facility in Uttarpara in Hooghly district.
