Kenyan government Friday warned of stern action against any competitor from the country's Commonwealth Games squad who will test positive for banned substances in Glasgow.

"We expect a lot of medals from this team since this is the first time we have sent a bigger number and I want to congratulate the National Olympics Committee-Kenya for diversifying the Games to other disciplines because we were known for athletics only," Xinhua quoted sports cabinet secretary Hassan Wario as saying.

"As Kenyans we win clean. If you want to cheat, don't go, since you will not be representing us.

"Doping is not a joke, so don't go mixing up with bad company in Glasgow and end up on the wrong side of the doping. We are going to crack the whip," Wario stated.

Track and field will be represented by 61 athletes which is the largest contingent in the team. The famed runners won 11 out of 12 gold medals the country bagged in New Delhi 2010.
