Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (Keonics) and global service provider NEC India have signed an MoU to collaborate and explore security solutions opportunities in the state and across India, a press release said on Thursday.
The NEC and Karnataka government aspire to execute projects in the areas of anti-terror cyber security, city surveillance, criminal investigation and forensics and system integration among others, it said.
"With focus on setting up world-class infrastructure for the electronics and IT related industries in the state, Keonics is one of the most progressive organisations in India working towards the advancement of not only Karnataka but that of the entire nation," said NEC India managing director Koichiro Koide.
"NEC will channelize its technological capabilities, global experience and local understanding towards Keonics initiatives, and together as a team we are confident of providing profound value to the citizens of Karnataka and India," he added.
NEC is considering Karnataka as a strategic state for delivering solutions which support social infrastructure and smart city projects, the release added.
