Lauding the contribution of the Kerala diaspora to the massive strides that the state has made, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday announced that a 'World Assembly of Malayalees' would be held here in January 2018.
Vijayan made this statement while speaking at a seminar 'Rising Kerala' organised by TV channel News18 on the first anniversary of their launch in the state.
"The state government is planning to hold a 'World Assembly' of Malayalees and it would include our own people's representatives and representatives from all over the world. It would be held here in January next year," said Vijayan and added that the details of this are being worked out.
He also said that if Kerala was all along known for formulating land reforms, the second biggest thing that Kerala is now known is for the contribution of its diaspora.
