The Kerala-based research and development firm Eram Scientific Solutions has been selected by the Marico Innovation Foundation (MIF) for a programme to promote innovative solutions for wider social impact.
The eToilet innovator based here has been selected for the two-year 'MIF Innovation Alchemy for the Social Innovation Acceleration Programme', an official release from the firm said Tuesday.
Eram Scientific Solutions is among the eight enterprises in India selected for this programme to "facilitate large-scale adoption of innovation thinking".
The firm said the programme will equip it to accelerate and scale up positive impact on under-served communities, through swifter progress in healthcare, employability, livelihoods, clean energy and waste management with the support of MIF and Innovation Alchemy.
Eram Scientific Solutions has been creating tremendous impact in the sanitation sector in the country and has so far set up 368 eToilets.
"This programme is a break-through opportunity for us and will support us in the scaling up of eToilet-eShop across the country. We are looking forward to creating a revolutionary impact in the very neglected sectors of sanitation and BoP (Bottom of the Pyramid) upliftment," said Siddeek Ahmed, chief managing director, Eram and ITL Group of Companies.
MIF was set up by Marico Ltd in 2003 to fuel innovation in India. It provides a framework to industry and social sector to leverage innovation for quantum growth, while Innovation Alchemy is a collaboration-consulting firm based in Bangalore.
