Shaun George, elder son of senior Kerala legislator P.C. George, on Saturday sought a detailed probe into allegations that he had sexually harassed a daughter of a politician in a train.
This follows the publication of a book by the daughter of a prominent political leader that details how she was harassed by the politician's son hailing from Kottayam while on a train travel from Kozhikode to Kottayam.
But a day after the book was released, the allegation became viral on the social media pointing fingers at Shaun George.
Shaun George on Saturday gave a complaint to state police chief Loknath Behra and Kottayam district Superintendent of Police to ensure that a complaint is registered and a probe be conducted into the allegations levelled in the book.
Speaking to the media, Shaun George held that his name has been maligned in the social media with lots of comments accusing him of misbehaving with the woman.
"It's true that I travelled in the same compartment with her and there were several top leading CPI-M leaders including legislators on the trip from Kozhikode to Kottayam. I have in my complaint asked for a detailed probe and sought action against all those who have maligned me on the social media. I am ready for a probe into it," he said.
