Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Friday said the state government is committed to the rehabilitation of 46 nurses, who returned from conflict-hit Iraq last week.

"We are fully committed to extending rehabilitation schemes for these 46 nurses besides all other nurses, who will return from Iraq," Chandy said here.

"Today (Friday) we got in writing from the Iraqi authorities that the salary dues of the 46 nurses would be paid from next week," he said, addressing the nurses.

Meanwhile, the nurses continued to receive job offers from various non-resident Keralite businessmen.

Middle East-based business magnate C.K. Menon promised Rs.3 lakh to each nurse while Atlas Ramachandran, who runs hospitals and jewellery shops in the Middle East, promised jobs to all of them.

Dubai-based healthcare conglomerate Aster DM Healthcare gave Rs.25,000 to each nurse besides offering them job.

The nurses Saturday returned from Mosul in Iraq.
