Having gone into "poll mode" for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is likely to announce soon specific tasks for general secretaries to widen the party's reach among youth and professionals and leverage social media in its campaign, party sources said.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who heads the campaign committee for the 2014 elections, and party president Rajnath Singh will assign the tasks to general secretaries and some other leaders after consulting members of the parliamentary board, the sources said.
Amit Shah was likely to be given the task of mobilisation through the social media.
A former Gujarat minister, Shah has worked with Modi, who has large following on Twitter among Indian politicians.
The sources said P. Murlidhar Rao was expected to be given the task of mobilising youth while Rajiv Pratap Rudy may be assigned the task of steering the party's radio campaign.
Varun Gandhi is likely to be assigned the task of coordinating planning for rallies, while J.P. Nadda is may be tasked with expanding the party's base among professionals.
Party vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is likely to be asked to prepare a "charge sheet" on the failures of the United Progressive Alliance government.
Party general secretary Ananth Kumar announced after the party's parliamentary board meeting Monday that the party was in election mode and was ready for early Lok Sabha polls.
