Two brothers, aged 10 and eight, who were kidnapped from east Delhi on Tuesday evening, have been rescued from Uttar Pradesh and one person arrested in this connection, police said on Friday.
The boys were rescued from Loni of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night and their kidnapper was arrested early on Friday from the same area, a police officer said.
The officer said the kidnapper took them away from their school in Seelampur of east Delhi promising to take them for a joyride and buying them eatables.
The kidnapper was known to the boys' mother and asked her to marry him if she wanted her children back, Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K. Singla said.
"The accused took the children to Loni of Uttar Pradesh and we had a tough time tracing him as the 12 mobile numbers he had were secured using fake identity papers," the officer said.
