Killed NRI student's family questions police probe

The family of 21-year-old NRI student Anmol Sarna, who died here after a drug party, Saturday questioned the Delhi Police investigation and said they will continue to press for a CBI probe.

Addressing a press conference here, they said they will meet the government to press their demands for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to handle the case.

"The postmortem report of Anmol clearly suggested that he had a deep injury on his head and in his private parts. Police have not investigated the case in this direction," said Sushma Sarna, his mother.

She also questioned the arrests of two security guards of Kalkaji's South Park apartment.

Sarna, who completed his high school from New York, was to return to Canada for further studies but died after a drug party Sep 13 night organised at one of his friend's flat in the south Delhi apartment. He had succumbed to a fatal head injury at the AIIMS later in the night.

Police had later arrested the two security guards, Naresh Mishra and Surender Bali for culpable homicide as well as Sarna's four friends - Shivang Gambhir, Madhav Bhandaru, Rhythm Girhotra and Pranil Shah - for having procured and consumed LSD which is banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
