At least nine family members, including two brothers of Uttar Pradesh legislator Haji Aleem, have been questioned in connection with the gruesome murder of the lawmaker's wife here, police said.
Rehana, 40, wife of Aleem, who represents the Bulandshahr constituency, was murdered Wednesday morning in her New Jafrabad residence in east Delhi. Her body bore 11 deep wounds and two bullet injuries.
Police suspect that the entry of her killers into her house was friendly and she might have been killed for revenge.
"The statements of her relatives are being corroborated," said a police officer.
Rehana was living with Aleem in his Bulandshahr home for the past six months. She however, visited the New Jafrabad house in Delhi at least twice a month.
She came to the Delhi house from Bulandshahr just four days before her killing, police said.
