A minute's silence was observed at the inaugural programme of the 21st edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival on Saturday to pay respects to the victims of the terror attacks in Paris and Beirut.
The star-studded gathering of actors, film critics, political leaders and movie buffs stood up and observed silence at the start of the opening gala at the Netaji Indoor Stadium here.
While at least 127 people were killed in the French capital as terrorists carried out a bloody Mumbai-style terror attack on Friday, the attack on Thursday in Beirut left at least 43 dead and 240 others injured.
