The RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group Spencer's retail chain will open two new stores here in the next few months, group chairman Sanjiv Goenka said Friday.
"We would be opening two new Spencer's stores in Kolkata in the next 7-8 months. One of the stores would come up at Park Circus and the other on B.T. Road," Goenka said.
The company which has 132 stores under the Spencer's label across the country, including 26 hypermarkets will be adding nine more stores including the two in the city in the coming months.
The company, which registered over 16 percent sales growth in FY 2012-13 with an average revenue per square feet of Rs.1,226 per month, is expected to achieve operating break even this fiscal.
