The Kurdistan Freedom Falcons militant group on Sunday claimed responsibility for the deadly double bombing in Istanbul that claimed the lives of 38 people and wounded 155 others.
The group assumed responsibility in a message broadcast through the Kurdish-affiliated Firat News Agency, saying Saturday's attacks were carried out by suicide bombers targeting the police and not the Turkish people, Efe news agency reported.
The Kurdistan Freedom Falcons sees itself as a splinter group of the better-known Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and has been blamed for several bloody attacks since 2004.
