Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios stunned World No.2 Andy Murray 6-4, 7-6 here on Wednesday to provide Australia Green with a lead in its Hopman Cup tie against Great Britain.
The 20-year-old relied on his big game as he recorded his first win in five matches against Murray, showing the benefits of some intense training ahead of the Australian summer.
"I've improved a lot. I've put in a lot of work in the off season," said Kyrgios after the match. He thrived before a sellout crowd of more than 12,000 at Perth Arena.
"It's my favourite time of year by far."
