Malayalam actress Shobana, who has become selective about choosing films, says she will return to the big screen if she gets to play exciting roles.
The National Award winner said that she gets frequent calls from directors, but somehow the roles being offered are not exciting enough.
"I decided to become selective once I realised that the ones that were coming... after being in the industry for so long... were no longer exciting and challenging. I will certainly return, if someone offers me an exciting one," the actress, who made her debut in 1984 with "April 18", told reporters here on Tuesday.
Shobana, who has acted in over 200 South Indian films like "T.P. Balagopalan M.A.", "Yathra" and "Manichitrathazhu", decided to go selective since the late 1990s.
Since early 2000, she more or less withdrew from the film industry. She turned towards dancing and her dance school in Chennai has since flourished.
"Today, I have 200 students and after I nurtured this school for long... these days, I do not spend much time as I have appointed full-time teachers who are my former students," she said.

"No, she does not dance, but she makes me dance," said the actress light-heartedly.
