BJP President Amit Shah on Tuesday said that if his party was voted to power in UP, within one month all land grabbed by 'goons of the Samajwadi Party' will be returned to their rightful owners.

Addressing a gathering of party supporters and local public after flagging off the third phase of the 'Parivartan Yatra', he alleged that the law and order situation in the state was very poor and development had come to a grinding halt.

Despite the land being very fertile in Poorvanchal, farmers here are in bad shape, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said while listing a host of measures rolled out by the Narendra Modi government for farmers.

Taking a dig at the ongoing fight in the ruling Samajwadi Party between Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle and state party chief Shivpal Yadav, Amit Shah said that the Modi government had doubled the crop damage compensation for farmers but the 'chacha-bhatija duo' had eaten up all the funds.

Because of a fight over commission, so far no agency has been selected for the Farmers Insurance Scheme in Uttar Pradesh, he alleged.

'While the BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) government got statues constructed and unleashed a string of scams, the SP has brought in the rule of goons and has patronised illegal mining in the state,' he said.

He also slammed Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his tirade against the Prime Minister and said that while the Congress-led UPA government was in power at the Centre for ten years, nothing was done on OROP and every time Pakistanis fired at Indian troops, they were not adequately responded to.

It is not the case any longer, he said while adding that every attempt by the Pakistani army is now given a befitting reply.
