Sri Lankan fast-medium bowler Nuwan Kulasekara has been released on bail after he was involved in a crash in which a motorcyclist died.
The Sri Lanka cricket board said preliminary investigations suggested that the motorcyclist lost control while trying to overtake a bus and collided with Kulasekara's vehicle.
It added that the player was granted bail "pending completion of the investigation".
"Sri Lanka Cricket expresses its sincere condolences on the tragic demise of a 28-year-old youth in an accident involving Sri Lanka Cricketer Nuwan Kulasekera earlier today.
"Preliminary inquiries have revealed that Mr Kulasekara was returning to Colombo from Kandy, when the unfortunate motorcycle rider who was travelling in the opposite direction had lost control of his bike whilst trying to overtake a bus and got flung into Mr Kulasekara's path," Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement on Monday.
"Mr. Kulasekera is currently enlarged on bail by the Kadawatha Chief Magistrate pending completion of the investigation," the statement added.
