Late evening showers Thursday brought some relief from the sweltering summer heat for the residents of Agra.
"The showers came after a duststorm that lasted for about half an hour in the evening," said Sudheir Gupta, a resident of Vijay Nagar Colony.
The maximum temperature in the city crossed the 44 degrees Celsius mark Thursday, and humidity levels also were high.
"The showers lasted for around 15 minutes bringing down the temperature considerably," said Shravan Kumar Singh of the Braj Mandal Heritage Conservation Society.
The change in weather has brought some cheer to the residents who have been braving intense heat for the past couple of days.
"Water and power supply were proving inadequate. A cool weather would hopefully bring some respite to the people," activist Devashish Bhatttacharya said.
