The Lebanese parliament has expressed solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza and the Iraqi Christians in Mosul.
It announced "its solidarity with the Palestinian people against the aggression being exercised by Israel," Xinhua reported.
Speaker Nabih Berri urged "lifting of the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip, the release of abducted Palestinian and the establishment of a higher Arab council tasked to handle issues dealing with the Gaza Strip."
"Israeli officials should be tried as war criminals for their violations in the Palestinian territories," Berri said.
As for the situation in Iraq's Mosul, Berri called on "the UN Security Council, the Islamic Cooperation Organisation and the Arab League to put an end to Christian persecution in Mosul."
"The parliament condemns the persecution of minorities. It calls for effective international action to confront the injustice in Iraq," Berri added.
