Lenovo India on Wednesday appointed Vivek Sharma as new Director of its Data Centre Group (DCG) in India.
As the new country DCG leader, Sharma will focus on customer-centric solutions as well as manage product portfolio, including server, storage, software, services and networking, the company said in a statement.
"I am excited to lead the DCG business in India at a time when the data centre business is at an inflection point with immense growth potential, both immediate and long term. This space will see a definitive influx of some very disruptive technology," said Sharma.
Sharma joins Lenovo from Dimension Data where, as the IDC and Cloud leader, he played a key role in transforming the ITaaS and data centre business. Sharma has also held several leadership positions at Wipro.
He will report to Sumir Bhatia, Vice President, Data Centre Group, Asia Pacific, Lenovo.
"We have made tremendous progress in our goal to become the number one trusted advisor for the data centre over the past year. We are confident that Vivek's rich experience and proven leadership skills will enable us to rapidly accelerate our scale and progress," added Bhatia.
