China-based internet conglomerate Letv may soon hire an ex-Samsung big shot to function effectively in the rapidly-growing Indian smartphone market, a top industry source said on Wednesday.
"Hiring an executive from a leading brand like Samsung only cements their (Letv) intention of capturing international markets as well as the consumers' imagination," the source told IANS.
They, however, refrained from naming the man.
The buzz comes a day after the company launched three "super products", including a 3D helmet, in the Indian market.
According to officials, the company, that calls "sustainable pricing" its unique selling point, is all set to launch two phones here on January 20.
Founded in November 2004 and headquartered in Beijing, Leshi Internet Information and Technology, also known as Letv, is engaged in a rich array of businesses, spanning from Internet TV, video production and distribution, smart gadgets, and large-screen applications to e-commerce and Internet-linked super-electric cars.
