Bayer Leverkusen defeated last-place Stuttgart 2-0 on a brace by Kevin Volland in the final 15 minutes.
After two straight defeats, the hosts climbed to 10th in the Bundesliga table with 14 points from 12 matches, while Stuttgart have earned just eight points, reports Efe news.
Leverkusen dominated throughout on Friday night, but visiting goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler held the home side at bay until the 76th minute, when Volland exploited a Stuttgart defensive lapse on a corner.
The 26-year-old striker added a second goal seven minutes later to seal the win for Leverkusen.
