German football club Bayer Leverkusen has announced that midfielder Karim Bellarabi will be out for the several weeks due to an adductor injury.

The German international suffered the injury in Leverkusen's 3-1 comeback win over Hamburg on Saturday. Bellarabi limped off the pitch only after three minutes and had to be replaced by youngster Julian Brandt, reports Xinhua on Sunday.

The subsequent MRI scan revealed a torn muscle in Bellarabi's adductors. He will miss the encounter against CSKA Moscow at the opener of the UEFA Champions League group stage on Wednesday.
