Director Ejaz Ahmed, who is all set to direct his next film "Life Ki Aisi Ki Taisi", says it is a satirical comedy and is on the lines of classic comedy film "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro".
"'Life Ki Aisi Ki Taisi' is on the lines of 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'. Director Kundan Shah had made it a success without having a single star in the movie and today lectures are given in big institutes about how he had made this comedy film without using comedy scenes. So we have also attempted a satirical comedy," Ahmed told IANS.
Talking about the current trend of comedy films in Bollywood, he says a film becomes big because of its subject and not stars.
"A film becomes big due to its subject and presentation and not just star cast. Today all big stars are doing comedy, but that does not mean small-budget comedy films won't work. Having said that, I don't count my film just like any other comedy film as it's a satirical comedy," he said.
Ahmed has earlier directed a film called "Who's There".
"Life Ki Aisi Ki Taisi" features newcomers and is almost ready and it will tentatively release this year.
