Ahead of the monsoon session of parliament, Congress president Sonia Gandhi will hold an Iftaar party next week, the guest list for which will include leaders from like-minded political parties.
Informed sources said the Iftaar gathering will take place on July 13 and that the invitations were yet to be sent.
The sources said political leaders who will be invited for the fast-breaking feast would include those from the Trinamool Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Samajwadi Party, Nationalist Congress Party and National Conference.
The invitation list is likely to be almost the same as last year, when the Congress president held an Iftaar dinner after a gap of three years, the sources added.
Congress leaders have said they would use the coming session of parliament to launch a multi-pronged attack on the government over the Vyapam scam, the Lalit Modi controversy and various other issues.
The party is seeking the resignation of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over the controversies.
Parliament's monsoon session will be held from July 21 to August 13.
