The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the wake of the oath taking ceromony of newly elected President Ram Nath Kovind.
Soon after the House met Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge wanted to raise an issue but Speaker Sumitra Mahajan did not allow him.
Mahajan also rejected Kharge's notice for adjournment of the Question Hour.
The Congress members then started shouting slogans.
Amid the din Mahajan adjourned the House till 3 p.m.
Earlier, the opposition parties led by Congress staged a protest near Mahatma Gandhi's statue against the suspension of six Congress MPs.

Trinamool Congress, the Left parties, Janata Dal-United, Rashtriya Janata Dal and some other opposition parties took part in the protest.
Later talking to reporters Kharge demanded the Speaker revoke suspension of Congress members, saying she took the decision under the government's pressure.
"This never happened during Meira Kumar. She never lost her cool. Speaker shouldn't come under govternment's pressure," Kharge said adding that Mahajan should withdraw her order and allow them in the House.
On Monday, the Speaker suspended six Congress MPs for five consecutive sittings in the House after they tore up papers and threw them in the air and towards the Speaker's podium to protest her decision disallowing a discussion on atrocities against Dalits and Muslims by cow vigilantes.
