President Pranab Mukherjee Thursday said India looked forward to "intensifying" its engagement with Germany as he greeted that nation on the eve of its "Unification Day" (Oct 3).
Extending his warm greetings and felicitations to the government and people of Germany, Mukherjee in his message to his counterpart Joachim Gauck said: "India deeply values its strategic partnership with Germany. Your visit in February 2014 has imparted fresh dynamism to this relationship."
"Our new Government believes that Germany can be a valuable partner in effective implementation of our new government's priorities, including skill development, urban development, cleaning of rivers and sustainable development."
"We look forward to intensifying our engagement with Germany in the near future," the president said.
"Please accept, excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration and my best wishes for your good health and personal well-being, as well as for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Germany," he added.
