The anti-narcotics cell here seized LSD worth Rs.55 lakh in the international market during a house search and arrested an elderly woman in this connection, a police spokesperson said Thursday.
The official said Nelly D'Souza, 55, was arrested for possession of LSD and booked under sections 22(c) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The narcotic drug, colloquially known as acid, was found during a search in the beach village of Anjuna, located 20 km from Panaji and known as a coastal hub for contraband drug peddling.
"The LSD was found in form of 1,860 paper squares, which are placed under the tongue for a 'trip'," the official said.
