An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale hit 100 km northeast of Chignik Lake, Alaska around 8.50 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicentre, with a depth of 7.6 km, was initially determined to be at 57.0821 degrees north latitude and 157.9149 degrees west longitude, Xinhua reported.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage.
