Maharashtra Governor Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao on Friday was sworn in as the acting Governor of Tamil Nadu as the tenure of K. Rosaiah ended on August 31.
He was administered oath of office by the Madras High Court's Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul at the Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa, state ministers, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M. Thambidurai, Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P.Dhanapal and others were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
Earlier, Jayalalithaa received Rao at the airport.
