The chairman and managing director of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, has been appointed the chairman of the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), a statement said Wednesday.
Mahindra succeeds N.R. Narayana Murthy, the Infosys founder who has held the position since July 2011. Mahindra has been elected to the post for a three-year term.
"Since inception, the PHFI has contributed immensely to strengthening India's public health capabilities and performance through a model public-private partnership," Mahindra said.
"I look forward to working with the governing body to further its goals to achieve a better health outcome," he said.
