Malaysia has brushed off security concerns over an upcoming international squash tournament following reports that the event might be postponed or cancelled on safety grounds.
Certain sections of the media reported on Friday that the Women's World Championships to be held here next week "is currently subject to doubt" following a warning from the tournament's main promoters, reports Xinhua.
Malaysia authorities disputed the claim as the police chief said there's no evidence so far to suggest any danger or security risk.
Malaysia has hosted a series of regional meetings this year. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) also held a big event here earlier in 2015.
