The Malaysian government has expressed interest in development of road sector in Rajasthan, a state minister said on Tuesday.
"We had a meeting with a 13-member delegation consisting mainly of Malaysian government officials on Tuesday where they expressed interest in development of road on our public private partnership (PPP) model," Public Works Department Minister Younis Khan told reporters here.
"A high level delegation from Malaysia is likely to visit the state to survey the road sector and study PPP model in a month," he said.
In October 2014, the state assembly passed the Rajasthan State Highways Bill, 2014, which seeks to provide for a network of modern and safe highways across the state.This followed the budget announcement made by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to build 20,000 km. of state highways over the next five years through the PPP mode.
