Mamata for peace, goodwill on UN Day

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee advocated re-dedication to peace and goodwill on the occasion of United Nations Day on Saturday.

"Today on the 70th anniversary of the United Nations let us rededicate ourselves to peace and goodwill among countries big & small #UN70," she tweeted.

UN Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN charter in 1945.

October 24 has been celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948.
