A 22-year-old man was burnt alive while another worker sustained injuries when a fire broke out in a shoe factory in west Delhi, police said on Thursday.
Fire began after a spark from a machine ignited chemicals and plastic stored on the second floor of a shoe factory in Narela industrial area around 11.15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Some workers jumped out of windows to save their lives, a senior police officer said.
The fire was doused after four hours by nearly 20 fire engines. The body of one Bablu was found in the charred portion of the building.
Another worker Anil, who received over 50 per cent burn injuries, was taken to nearby hospital for treatment.
