A 20-year-old man was accidentally shot dead by his accomplice while they were robbing a cab driver Wednesday, police said.
The incident took place around 4.30 a.m. in Begumpur area of west Delhi, when three men pretending to be passengers signalled a cab to stop.
As the driver - identified as Labh Singh - stopped the vehicle, two men sat on the front seat, while another sat on the rear seat.
One of the men in the front seat asked the driver to hand over his valuables, and when he refused, the man whipped out a pistol and shot in his direction.
The driver bent down and the bullet hit the temple of the other man in the front seat, police said.
After the man fell down dead, the two other men fled and the driver somehow managed to approach police.

Police identified the dead man as Satish, who had a criminal record of snatchings and robberies in various police stations.
A hunt is on to nab his two accomplices who are on the run.
