A man has been arrested on the charge of cheating people by taking money on the pretext of getting them government jobs, the city police said on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar told IANS that Santosh of Uttar Pradesh was arrested from Kirti Nagar area on Sunday.
The accused targeted unemployed persons from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and took money from them, promising jobs in the Delhi Jal Board and later went incommunicado, the police officer said.
One of his victims complained to the police that Santosh took Rs 3 lakh from him on the promise of securing him a government job.
The police said a probe is on to see if more persons were involved in the fraud he played.
