Man posing as doctor held in Gurugram

A 35-year-old matric pass man, posing as an MBBS doctor and treating people by showing fake documents, was arrested in Gurugram, police said on Saturday.

Ravinder Kumar Mandal, hailing from Gangapur area of Bihar's Madhepura district, was running a clinic in Madanpuri area of Gurugram.

Police said that he was currently living in Basai Enclave area in the city.

A senior police officer said the accused searched on the internet and found another Ravinder Kumar Mandal, an MBBS.

He copied the registration number of the doctor and also replaced the real photograph with his photo.

He started treating patients claiming that he was an MBBS doctor, hence endangering the lives of people.

Earlier, Mandal used to work on call as an assistant in operation theatres of various hospitals.

A case was registered against Mandal at the New Colony police station.

"Fake rubber stamps of a medical college, fake papers and medical equipment were recovered from his clinic," the officer said.

He added that the accused, who was produced before the court of an Area Magistrate, has been sent to three days police remand.
